COVID 19 UPDATE

Weddings and Ceremonies

The Registration Service is committed to ensuring we move to a position where we can safely increase guest numbers again as we know how important it is for couples marrying with us.  Since the previous update,  the service has worked hard to carry out a thorough review, ensuring all  health & safety considerations are taking into account as Havering Council still has a duty to keep staff and visitors safe.   We have also taken into account the change in risk as the current Covid19 infection rate is declining .  For that reason, the Registration Service is pleased to be able to increase its capacity at weddings & ceremonies from Friday 27 August 2021.

The new capacity numbers are as follows:

Room

Capacity

East & West Room

40

Hall & Orangery

70

All numbers above include, couple, bridal party, witnesses & guests.

* Workers are not included i.e. 2 Registrars & 1 Photographer

If you are booked in the East / West Room there may be an opportunity for you to upgrade to the hall if it is available, there is an additional cost to upgrade. If you would like to enquire about upgrading please call the bookings team on 01708 433155.

We can assure you that we will continue to monitor and review these guidelines on a regular basis throughout this pandemic, and should any changes take place and we are able to raise the numbers of guests attending a ceremony or function, we will of course make direct contact with you and update this page accordingly. At this stage we cannot guarantee this will happen before your event takes place. Until then, you should assume that the numbers permitted to attend your booking is as above.

Covid Measures

 Important Information

  • Please ensure you keep to your numbers, extra guests will not be allowed in the room and will be asked to leave.
  • For the safety of all, we are advising guests to wear facemasks in our building.
  • We will advise your photographer on where they can safely stand, we ask that they do not move around the room and remain in their allocated place.
  • Chairs must remain where they are and are not to be moved.
  • Sanitiser will be available for your use upon entering the building.

COVID-19 Guidance

The government are encouraging everyone to test twice a week using rapid lateral flow testing. We expect everyone who attends to be testing twice a week and strongly recommend individuals to have tested prior to attending.

Reasons why tests are requested

Testing does not replace the Covid-19 mitigation measures such as social distancing, masks, hand washing at the event.

Testing is an additional tool to help prevent the spread of COVID-19

We will not be enforcing the need to test and not asking for a negative test result

If you or any of your guests have displayed any of the following symptoms:

  • A high temperature
  • A new continuous cough
  • Loss of taste or smell or
  • Had a positive test result in the last 15 days,

Please advise those members of your ceremony party NOT to attend Langtons House on the day of your ceremony.

We thank you for your continued patience & understanding during this very difficult and uncertain time.
