No, we are not able to recommend, but we do have some information about external suppliers for wedding and events with links from our home page.

Can I hold a religious meeting, prayer group in the hall?
No as a Register Office we are unable to hold religious ceremonies on our premises.
Can I get married in the hall?
Yes we have been licensed to hold ceremonies in the hall from 2009 and holds up to 100 people.
Do you know of hotels in the area?

Can I park at Langtons?
During the week Mon-Fri 9am until 5pm there is no space, staff car park only, but if you have an evening or weekend reception there is space for approximately 20 cars in staff car park. The turning circle needs to be kept clear during the day on Saturday and Sunday for ceremony cars.
There are local car parks
• The Queens Theatre in Billet Lane has a pay and display car park.
• Sainsbury’s in Billet Lane has a car park
Do you have a dressing room?
Yes we have a preparation room on the first floor overlooking the park, with long mirror, dress rack, table and chairs. You can make a lovely entrance coming down the beautiful oak staircase.

How can I pay?

Can I make a provisional booking, if not, why not?
No, bookings are only taken with non-refundable deposit payment.
What can I do in the kitchen, and do we need insurance?
Please read the terms and conditions of Langtons Hall for all information regarding insurance and catering.
What are the opening/closing times?
9am until 12:00 midnight Friday, Saturday & Sunday
9am until 11:00pm Monday to Thursday
As we are in a residential area we only accept an extension to 1am on New Year’s Eve.
Can we use the Foyer to make our entrance into the hall?
The Hall has its own separate entrance through the stable yard.
We do sometimes hire out the foyer; you need to email registration@havering.gov.uk to obtain a cost and availability.
Langtons House is a working building throughout the day and some evenings, so the foyer is not always available.
Can I drop off equipment / decorate the hall the night before function?
Normally no, however please contact Lantons House the week before to see if we are able to accommodate.
If equipment is dropped off please note it is left at the owner’s risk, it must be picked up promptly after event.
You can pay to hire the hall the night before if you need it.

Can I have candles at my reception?
No, naked flames
Can you take the Bulls Head down, as it is against my religion?
We need to be very clear to customers that the bull’s head is a structural part of the Hall and that whilst we can cover it, we cannot remove it.
Can we stick decorations up on the walls?
No, you cannot stick things up with tape or pins, only blu-tack.

Do you put our tables, chairs and decorations out ready?
If you have hired the hall with adequate time for our hall keepers to carry out your floor plan, they will assist by laying the tables and chairs out.
Generally they just make sure that all the table and chairs needed are in the hall ready for your caterers/ family to position them and dress them as required.

The hall is 48ft long and 20ft wide.

42” Wide, 84” Long and 34” High.
We do not decorate the hall; this is for the customer to organise.
Can I have the chairs covered?
Yes, there are companies that advertise in our Wedding and Ceremony brochure that have covers that fit our chairs.
Make sure you have checked with Langtons House that you have time to cover them prior to your function and ring the company direct to make arrangements.

What is included when hiring the hall for a reception including colour scheme?
The hall is a golden wood panelled room with wood floor and William Morris green leaf pattern wallpaper, finished with dark green curtains and gold framed chairs with dark green and gold patterned upholstery.
What’s included?
• 80 chairs available for a sit down
• Choice of 8 round tables, 13 x (6ft x 2ft) trestle tables and 3 x (4ft x 2ft) trestle tables.
• The Servery
• Bar area with wine and bottle cooler and freezer
• Fully fitted kitchen (double oven, micro-wave, dishwasher, tall fridge, small freezer, water urn and warming cupboard.
